Join filmmaker Caveh Zahedi for a special preview presentation of his latest project: How and Why to Make a Film about a Not-Very-Famous Iranian-American Film Producer I Didn’t Even Know That Well
Known for his deeply personal, self-reflexive filmmaking style, Caveh Zahedi invites you to an evening exploring the creative journey behind his newest work-in-progress. Zahedi, whose acclaimed films include I Am a Sex Addict and the groundbreaking series The Show About the Show, blends documentary, autobiography, and philosophical inquiry in a way that is as hilarious as it is profound.
This 90-minute multimedia event will feature a live storytelling version of the new film, with both the producer and one of the film’s subjects in attendance. Caveh will also share additional clips he's considering for inclusion and open up the process—taking feedback and suggestions directly from the audience.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to engage with one of independent cinema’s most inventive storytellers, Caveh Zahedi. Over the course of more than a decade, Zahedi attempted to make three different films with Iranian-American producer Marjaneh Moghimi—none of which came to fruition before her untimely passing. Now, he’s creating a film about her—one that not only tells her story but also incorporates the narratives of those three unfinished projects.
Structured in the spirit of Citizen Kane and One Thousand and One Nights, this new work unfolds as a kaleidoscopic narrative—stories within stories and fragments of memory, all reimagined into something deeply personal and revelatory.”
